Who we are
Shieldsla.org is a community-based organization committed to addressing the issue of homelessness in our community. We provide emergency shelter, food, and support services to those in need.
Our Mission Statement
We are committed to changing the way our homeless Angelinos are perceived and cared for. With deep insight dealing with the homeless we are in the best position to offer completely transparent programs to address, in time, all facets of homelessness in the greater Los Angeles area.
Once the viability of our programs has proven successful locally, we will extend our business model to other communities throughout California.
Our Vision
Over the next five years we would like to have the following five shelters in place. Our first shelter is for homeless individuals who are ready to return to work. Our second homeless shelter is for single parents with children. The third homeless shelter will be for the elderly and disabled. The Fourth homeless shelter is for individuals suffering from substance abuse. Our fifth homeless shelter is for those individuals with mental health challenges. And possibly a sixth homeless shelter for emergency relief and readiness.
Our vision is for each of these individual shelters to aggressively attack and solve the homeless problem by dividing the homeless into sub-categories. By providing the most advanced services and resources at each shelter location, we believe we will achieve maximum results. This will be accomplished by our integrity, our investigation as to what solutions work for maximum results and by being focused on continuous progress and development. We will identify the best results or solutions from what has been done in the past and not make the same mistakes from past attempts to solve homelessness.
Our vision within five years is to launch our programs in other Cities in the greater Los Angeles area, even taking our model of curing the homeless problem to other States.
Our programs
We offer a range of programs designed to help those experiencing homelessness, including job training, education, mental health services, and more. Our programs are designed to empower individuals and help them achieve long-term stability.
